The following lists the best and most useful WAP sites available on the web. I noticed there seemed to be a lack of decent up-to-date WAP directories available, so I thought I'd share some of my favourite mobile bookmarks. Hopefully to encourage people to leave the awful ring fenced WAP portals the mobile operators provide.
When WAP was launched in the late 90s it was totally over-hyped and most people realised WAP was crap, but some sites are genuinely useful (like Pub Quiz Help!) when away from your PC and the full-fat web. Once you accept that you're not going to get the rich multimedia experience you've been used to on your PC, you'll learn to appreciate the simple text based layouts of most WAP sites which allows you to get to information quickly while out and about.
Note - Most of the links listed have a UK slant, you can click on the links directly if you have a wml enabled web browser such as Opera or Firefox (with an extension installed). But to get the links on your phone you'll have to type the urls in manually for the moment.
